Just out of town.

Since I like history, SE Colorado has a lot for me. Locally, we have the Grand Theater, and my favorite, Bent's Old Fort about 40 minutes drive outside of town. Bent's Fort has reenactors a lot, and is almost 200 years old. It is an adobe fort built in the 1840s. They have it set up with historical items to give the very best idea of how life was for the families who lived at the trading post. Of course, being this part of Colorado, it is surrounded by slow growing prairie grass and a few desert trees. But the view of the mountains to the west is beautiful.
