My New Dog

One of the guides for the company I work for, Bush Alaska Expeditions, manages an RV park in Chicken during the summer months. He started the moving process a couple of days ago and had a 10 month old pup he was trying to find a home for. He loved the dog but his girlfriend thought she was to wild.
Wanting to start my own kennel, I took the dog. Her name was Savannah but I renamed her Nenana in commemoration of my hometown. She is a husky but built like a wolf-malamute. She is smaller than your average malamute but has the markings and bone structure of one.
I grew up with malamutes and am very pleased with the pup. I had her in the harness for the first time yesterday. We mushed to church and back on glare ice and through some overflow. There was no hesitation on her part due to undesirable conditions. She will make a great team dog, and I have hopes of one day training her as a leader.
