Would you be surprised

Would it shock you to find out that there are enlightened chimps or orangutans somewhere, or ex-chimps and/or ex-orangutans in unmarked graves somewhere, as the result of CIA (or worse and more secret agencies) psychotropic drug experimentation? And what if we observed wild primates gathering in groups, on their own volition, on the Solstices - eating shrooms and tripping balls and dancing all night? I wonder if the government would say its immoral, illegal, and make them knock it off. Maybe we'd drop a few bombs on them, in the name of all that's decent. I bet if through the auspices of such psychedelic mind expansion (think: Fruit of Knowledge) these psychonaut apes were to learn human languages, I bet the government would eventually get them some equal rights so they could work and pay taxes. And if they were more interested in contemplating the first question, as regards rank (Why is there something, rather than Nothing) than in making and selling widgets, you can bet that Daniel Dennett and his ilk would condemn them as fools.
