I am not sophisticated, although I am quite articulate; I have earthy tastes. I prefer hiking and walking. I like 70s rock & folk/rock and British Isles folk music. I am left liberal socialist intellectual with conservative fiscal and monetary policy views. That's not to say I'm good with money; but good enough. :o)

Now I'm feeling less like traveling and more like buying a house and continuing school for 10 years here in Albuquerque. My income is not rich, but it is quite stable and enough for us to live easily.

I know it's kinda dorky wanting a long term passionate, totally committed relationship these days, but I just feel strongly that living with the same woman my whole life is the right way to be. Yes, this sounds co-dependent. (Personally, I prefer the phrase, "interdependent") but I figure the world's a big place, and if this is what *I* want, chances are, somewhere out there is a woman (with whom I share mutual chemistry, naturally) who feels the same way. Maybe it is time for me (and -hopefully- you, too) to grow in this way? I don't know. But that's how I feel.

Very much into personal growth, emotional responsibility, economics, dancing, gender politics, ham radio, walking, Macintosh programming, forests and mountains, travel and doing all those things with my best friend and lover and partner.

I prefer a partner who needs to cuddle regularly (as -obviously- so do I).

I was a computer programmer off and on for 21 years. Finally, in 2001 I just couldn't do it anymore. My eyesight's always been pretty bad, but it got worse. Then, in 2003 I walked around (mostly eastern) Europe. In 2005, I went back to school fulltime here at the University of New Mexico. I was majoring -first, in Electrical Engineering (sadly, too much math) and then in Economics and minoring in Political Science and prelaw. I wasn't very enthused about those. Maybe I can practice math enough to get back into it? We'll see.

I've spent this past year at a Community College studying Carpentry and home building and I'm much happier. :o)

But I wish I had someone to share it all with.

About my ideal partner:

I seek a woman who is happy to learn about herself and about me and always happy for me to try to understand her. She is always completely honest with me, so that we can learn about one another and she expects me to always be completely honest with her. While she may need emotional energy every day, she understands the difference between seeking comfort and seeking solutions and makes it clear as often as possible which she wants. She does not drink to excess, nor smoke nor do any drugs except perhaps for Marijuana and sugar and she's at least trying to cut down on sugar.

She is happy to garden or swim or hike or cook or camp or ride a horse or bicycle or just sit around watching movies as well as whatever additional hobbies strike her fancy. She wants to either raise children or go to school or both or do some kind of volunteer work but she doesn't care about money so much as long as I give her enough.

She wants to be cared for by me, for the rest of her life so she can concentrate on whatever aspects of herself in which she would like to grow. She likes living in a home near the trees, sometimes she may like going into the city, but she prefers a country life, as I do, so long as neither of us has to work very hard.

She understands that sometimes it is necessary to hear uncomfortable truths from her husband and she is able to listen to them and respond gently, with love. Likewise, she knows she can tell me anything she can imagine (and whatever she may ever want or need to tell me that she cannot yet imagine) and she knows that I will listen and calmly talk to her about it and, as I expect from her too, react in ways that are not harmful to her. She admires this restraint in me as I do in her.

Chemistry is everything. Being intelligent would be nice, too. Long pretty hair, a plus.
