More about me:
First off, I'm not a sports fan, so I'm really not looking for one. I guess I'm looking for a girl who is a little more nerdy, geeky, dorky, whatever you want to call it. Like, the kind of girl you might actually see at a comic convention or late night movie screening or something, or who can't walk by the Disney Store without going in. I could really get along with someone like that, but it is hard to find any who are single. In fact, it is unlikely there are any on dating sites, but I'm just going to put this up on around 6 different ones and see if any turn up.
I'm an artist (cartoonist/illustrator) new to Austin. I'm a laid-back, easy-going, fun-loving type, and a sweetheart who needs someone who really loves cuddling and affection. I love cooking, baking, casual swimming, animals, casual dining, drawing, writing, and doing all sorts of creative projects, but what I really love are movies and cartoons, and I'm a huge Disney fan. I really am looking for someone I can snuggle up and enjoy some animation or a horror flick with, either at home or at the Alamo Drafthouse Theater(which I LOVE), and whom I can go to Disney World with now and then who will enjoy it all as much as I do. I love holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween, and that's also very important to me in finding someone to spend time with. I love the whole Santa Claus bit (I collect Hallmark Christmas ornaments of cartoon and movie characters), and I've always wanted to spend Halloween with someone special in a cute costume like all the other guys get to.
Honestly, I'm starting out with dating pretty late, and I have a lot to catch up on. Having said that, I'm not super experienced, but that doesn't mean I am not looking to commit to a serious relationship; it does mean that I don't want to get married this year or next though, and I am not in a rush to have kids. I don't want to date anyone who has been married or had kids either, because I'd like those to be new experiences for both of us, if and when they happen. Please don't message me or harass me (as some have) because you don't like that I said that. It is nothing personal, it's just how I want it. Basically, I am just looking to have that one-on-one romance right now without extra complications, because I have never had that before, but I do hope to find the girl I will marry someday, even if I don't want to rush into it.
Now, as I said, I'm new to Austin, and that does mean I'm currently seeking a job. Plus, I'm actually out of town until June, because my parents are both bedridden, one from a recent accident and the other from illness. I'm taking care of them till I go back to Austin sometime at the end of May. I am posting this stuff now so that it will be up here for a while and maybe I can start up some messaging/e-mail connections with some truly kindred souls who might want to go out after I return and settle into a job (and maybe a little while on the job hunt, as I do make a side income from art commissions). It might not happen that the right girl comes across my profile and takes an interest, but I'm giving it a try, though I did recently have my heart broken on one of these sites already by someone I really adored, but who couldn't wait for me when I had to help my parents out for 4 months (understandable, but still heartbreaking for me). This is me giving it one more chance that there is just one more girl out there who has that much in common with me, is that open to dating a guy who is more of a sweetheart than an underwear model, and who is still working on his dreams and not ready to settle for just whatever. I know there are a lot of folks in Austin who are waiting tables and doing whatever else they have to, even with college degrees, still trying to live their artistic dreams, and they aren't single, so I don't see that as a reason I should have to be alone either.
About my ideal partner:
Um, ha, I get chastised on other sites for saying what I want, but since I'm being asked here, I am not very experienced with dating, so I am not looking for someone who has been married, practically married, or who has kids. In fact, I'm more comfortable dating younger. I really just want someone very sweet, kind, friendly, and cute. Physically, cute is the best description for my type. I like petite girls with bright eyes and preferably no tattoos. I like girls who dress cute/feminine and appreciate cute things, and are fun loving but not in a totally raunchy way (unless it's just us in private, ha). I want someone very affectionate, as I am, within a serious relationship. And, something very important, someone who enjoys a lot of the things I enjoy, most importantly, cartoons and movies of all kinds, Disney in general, and celebrating Christmas (which includes Santa) and Halloween (which includes dressing up, ha). I have gone from Christian to someone agnostic fairly recently. I just am not looking for a religious fanatic, though in my opinion, that includes hardcore atheists, so... You know, just someone more reasonable about things like that, and just in general. Anyway, I guess that's specific enough.
