I’m an optimistic, good-natured person who looks for the best in people. I'm kind of a goofball and a playful person. I enjoy making other people laugh even if it is something about me. I enjoy back and forth banter with people. Of course, that works best when you understand and appreciate each other's sense of humor. I’m compassionate, affectionate and a good listener. I tend to reach out and try to help people I see who are upset or troubled. I’m a curious person and enjoy learning how things work and the stories behind them. I can admit when I’m wrong or don’t know something. Being macho, self-absorbed, pretentious and needing to control others or "one-up" everybody in conversations is not me. You just don't treat people that way.

btw: I was married for 14 years. The divorce was final in May 2011. There is no drama with my ex. We have both moved on.

About my ideal partner:

I’m looking for someone who is affectionate, sensitive, unpretentious and kind of silly/quirky; I enjoy sci-fi/fantasy so I’m looking for someone who can at least appreciate that I enjoy those things. (Note: I'm not a "super-fan") Someone who makes me smile when I look at her; Someone who makes me feel loved when she looks at me; A woman who can make me laugh and who is willing to talk to me about her feelings; And I want to be all of those things and more to my special someone. Holding each other and being together, whether we are traveling or going out or staying at home.

FIRST DATE:
I suggest we meet in a public place for a beverage. Let's just talk about something fun/interesting and see if we can make each other laugh and see if there is any kind of initial chemistry. Then, if there is a next time, we can launch into our epic life stories. If we quickly discover that we cannot stand to be in the same room with each other, it will be easy enough to escape at anytime:-)
